Job Seeker Who Forged Okonjo-iweala’s Signature Arraigned By EFCC

A very desperate Nigerian job seeker who forged the signature of Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, purportedly recommending him for a job, has been remanded in prison.
Obiejogo Raymond Azuka was remanded in Kuje prison, Abuja today on the orders of Justice Muawiyah Baba idris.
Azuka was arraigned today by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Gwagwalada, Abuja on a six count charge bordering on forgery.
Obiejigo, a Higher National Diploma holder from Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra allegedly forged a reference letter purportedly from the Minister of Finance, Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala alongside his curriculum vitae requesting for employment into the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC; Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND and Nigerian Security Printing and Minting, NSPM.
One of the counts reads:
"That you Obiejogo Raymond Azuka on or about the 11th day of August 2014 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, intentionally induced the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to employ you as Account Officer II by presenting a forged reference letter titled "Reference on Obiejogo Raymond Azuka" purportedly made by the Honourable Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala recommending you as a worthy officer fit for employment and which act caused harm to the reputation of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) and that you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 320(b) and punishable under section 322 of the Penal Code CAP 532 LFN,1990″
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.
In view of his plea, counsel to EFCC, Halidu Mohammed urged the court to fix a date to commence trial and also to remand the accused in prison custody.
However, the defence counsel, J. E Chukwuemeka through a formal application asked the court to admit the accused to bail. But, his application was opposed by Mohammed who asked the court for time to respond.
Justice Idris adjourned the case to June 2, 2015 for hearing of the bail application and commencement of trial and ordered the accused to be remanded in Kuje Prison custody.

The Only Street In America With A Nigeria

Yes once in new york With all the background sounds of heavy traffic, You're hearing the intersection of 44th Street and 2nd Avenue in New York City.

The northeast corner of this intersection is significant to the Nigeria story for two reasons. First, it is the site of Nigeria's mission to the United Nations and their New York consulate. Second, the New York City Council has renamed this corner Kudirat Abiola Corner.

To understand the significance of Kudirat Abiola we have to go back to 1993, the last time Nigeria experimented with democracy. Kudirat's husband, Moshood Abioloa, ran for President and he won but the election was annuled by the then head of state Ibrahim Babangida

Niger lawmakers abandon impeachment plan on Gov. Aliyu after receiving N17 million each

According to reports, the impeachment against the Niger State Governor, Aliyu Babangida, may have been dropped as members of the state House of Assembly pushing for the governor's removal have been allegedly paid N17m each with the additional promise that their other demands would be met as well.

The N17m is said to be part of the allowances they were owed since February.

The speaker said he couldn't confirm this report.

However, one of the lawmakers said, "It was not as if the governor bribed us, it is our legal entitlements and we have a right to ask for it before the expiration of our tenure. We have been paid and calm has returned to the assembly complex." So because they had been paid, they decided against impeaching the Governor, he said.

It will be recalled that last week, the lawmakers had sacked the leadership of the assembly and elected a new leadership over a series of allegations including non-implementation of house resolutions, poor staff and members' welfare and non-release of the statutory allocation to the assembly for months. This, it was learnt, was done to pave the way for the removal of the governor.

To frustrate the lawmakers, the governor had headed for the court where he secured an order to restrain the legislators from making any move to impeach him.

The House of Assembly was also occupied by security operatives for so many days to prevent the members from entering into the assembly complex to carry out their legislative duties.

Due to this, Kawu had threatened to institute a legal action against the Niger State Police Commissioner, Mr. Emmanuel Amore, over what he described as the illegal occupation of the state House of Assembly by security operatives.

Calm seems to have returned and all seems to be well.

A Movie About Tupac’s Last 7 Days Alive Is In The Works

As we know John Singleton abandoned the dishonest documentary about Tupac Shakur, but there is another film dedicated to the legacy of the late legend which might see the light of day soon.

Gobi Rahimi – video director and producer for Pac and Deathrow Records – just launched an crowdfunding campaign for his own movie.

The motion picture, titled 7Dayz, will focus on Shakur's last seven days following the shooting in Las Vegas which ultimately took his life.

I was waiting for Tupac at Club 662 in Las Vegas after the Mike Tyson fight on September 7, 1996," Rahimi wites. "Soon after, I was informed by rapper Nate Dogg that Tupac and Suge Knight had been shot and taken to University Hospital. I immediately rushed there to be by Tupac's side. This was the first of an emotional seven days that I sat guard over Tupac, who was in an induced coma, riding the line between life and death. 7Dayz is the story of my experience at the hospital amidst death threats, undercover FBI informants and an uncooperative

police department."

"

In order to put out the project, Rahimi needs $500,000.
