How to change blogspot.com to dot com

Well personally this does not matter to me but it does to a lot of bloggers so today I would share with you the easiest way to do this. Some reason why u should include; - You will get a customized email address for your blogger e.g. yourname@ domain.com
- It encourages you to be committed to your blog because you have invested money in it
- If you leave blogger, you can point the domain to another host for example a wordpress self-hosted site and you will still keep your tranking and traffic etc
Note:After changing your blogspot url to .com, if anyone still visit the old .blogspot address, the person will be redirected to the new .com address, however you blog readers / subscribers wont be left behind.

Well what u would be needing are;
DOT com successfully
- A funded Mastercard / VISA Card (e.g. GTBank Naira Mastercard, Zenith Bank Mastercard etc verve atm not accepted)-
A domain name which is still available ,u can verify that by going here Goto www.namecheap.com
- Enter a domain name and click on Search
If the name is available, then go ahead and pay for the domain name using your Mastercard or VISA card.
Next u would then add Add a Custom Domain Name Using Blogger New Interface
After buying your domain name from namecheap you have to change Domain Name System (DNS) settings and enter google blogger CNAME's. In a bit, here is how to do that.
- Login to Blogger Dashboard
- Goto > Settings under Publishing you'll see Blog address.
- Click Add a Custom Domain
- Type in your name in Advanced Settings and click Save. You'll see the Name, Label/Host field, Destination, Target or Points you need to copy and paste in the DNS setup.
Now you have to verify your authority to this domain by changing the CNAME's from your domain registrar's website.
- So Hit back to www.namecheap.com
- Login to your Namecheap account and go to Manage Domains
- Click on the domain you would like to edit
- Click on Transfer DNS to Webhost (or Domain Name Server Setup) to setup the nameservers for your domain
- Select Specify Custom DNS Servers (Your own DNS Servers) option and enter the Name servers accordingly
- Click Save changes
It may take up to 24-48 hours for the changes to take effect to be propagated worldwide its all dependable on your host.
That's All. You have succesfully change blogspot url to DOT com.
