A popular activist, peacemaker and former mediator of the Boko Haram group, Shehu Sani has revealed that the over 200 schoolgirls kidnapped in Chibok by the dreaded Islamist militant group, Boko Haram could be released if one condition is met, that is to exchange the girls for jailed Boko Haram members.
According to Shehu Sani:"From my knowledge of the group, to have him [Shekau] saying that he will sell them is proof that this issue can be resolved. The group is most likely to want to attach some kind of conditions to the girls being released, such as the freeing of some of their own prisoners."
He said the video Shekau released was an attempt to persuade government into a prisoner trade…
The former mediator told newsmen that he believes the video, where Boko Haram leader, Shekau threatened to sell the girls as slaves, shows he plans to use them as 'bargaining chips' rather than kill them.
In the video, Shekau is seen dressed in combat fatigues standing in front of an armoured personnel carrier and two pick-up trucks mounted with sub-machine guns. He then declares: "I abducted your girls. I will sell them in the market, by Allah." Shekau then takes a swipe at democracy, Western education, efforts for Muslims and Christians to live in peace and rails against non-believers in Islam.
Anyway, Nigerian Police has offered a £300,000 reward to anyone who can help them find the missing girls that are in Boko Haram camp. Seriously? Who has won the money they placed on Shekau's head?

Chris Brown sentenced to 1 year in jail. To spend only 131 days
TMZ just reported this breaking news...Chris Brown was a few hours ago sentenced one year in jail for violating his probation in the Rihanna case during an appearance in court today. But thankfully he will only spend 131 days or less in jail for time already spent in jail.
http://www.tmz.com/ reports
Chris Brown was in court Friday afternoon, where he admitted he violated his probation by getting into a fight with a dude in Washington D.C.
That's all the judge needed to hear. He sentenced Chris to 1 year in jail. However, Chris got credit for 116 days he spent in rehab, and another 59 days behind bars. That leaves 131 days in the pokey.
But we're told the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept has been releasing inmates sentenced to 1 year after 240 days. And here's the thing. Chris gets credit for 2 days for every 1 he served behind bars, so when you add it up, he has credit for 234 days -- 6 days shy. So he could be released in days. Continue ..
The judge could have gone a lot harder -- 4 years in prison. But Chris got a break because the judge took into account he was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which could account for some of the violence.
The judge also ordered Chris to attend therapy sessions with a shrink 2 times a week. And he must submit to random drug testing 3 times a week.
Chris is not out of the legal woods ... his D.C. assault trial is set to start in the following months

'I no longer sleep with my two eyes closed' - President Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan revealed that since the abduction of the Chibok girls on April 14th, he does not sleep with his two eyes closed anymore. The president made this remark during the closing media conference of the just concluded World Economic Forum Africa today
"Let me also use this unique opportunity to thank all of you who have shown commitment and concern those of you in Nigeria and those of you outside this country to continue to press on that these terrorists must bring back our girls. And they have no choice because I am quite pleased that the whole world is signing the same message that they must bring back our girls. And there is no where they will take this girls to, they have no hiding place, we must work with the global community that is quite keen to make sure that we bring back this girls. We plead with the parents as a father and the President of this country, I feel pained and I don't sleep with my two eyes closed and I will not sleep with my two eyes closed until these girls are brought safely back to their parents. I thank you for all the concern, for all the sentiments, communications you are putting across to the rest of the world about what we are doing and of course where the world wants to support us." he said.
Meanwhile an Amnesty International report released today, May 9th, states that the Nigerian military was notified of the Boko Haram attack four hours before they arrived the Government Girls Secondary School where they abducted the young girls.
According to Makmid Kamara, the Nigeria researcher for Amnesty International, indigenes of Chibok community who spoke with Amnesty officials on the condition of anonymity said they had informed military personnel in the area around 7pm that evening of a pending attack by Boko Haram but no one mobilized for military backup until the Boko Haram men came calling at11.45pm
"We received information and we spoke to a senior Nigerian military officer, who spoke to us on condition of anonymity, that they had received intelligence reports, even before local authorities and politicians got the information, that gunmen were on their way to the Chibok town"
"When I spoke to one of the senior military officials, they informed me that they [had] informed their superiors, and requested for reinforcement. But the reinforcement did not come." By the time the Boko Haram men came, only 17 soldiers were on ground and they could not withstand the emissaries the Islamic sect men came with.
"Only 17 troops were there to face the attack and they were outgunned and outnumbered. They had to flee for their lives together with some other villagers who fled to the bush," Kamara said..

Genevieve Nnaji talks about missing Chibok Girls on CNN
Big girl Genevieve Nnaji was on CNN a few hours ago talking about the missing Chibok girls, and she was very articulate.
"Everyone is involved .We are all mothers, we are all humans and these are young girls that have been taken to captivity. As celebrities, we thought it was our responsibility to shed light and bring to the forefront this inhumane act."
"For me I think it will be unfair to say they (the federal government) were slow to react because nobody knew whether they reacted or not. The thing is we weren't told, we didn't know if they were aware of the situation or not. The major problem we had was the lack of communication. We just wanted them to react to us. Now we can see things being put in place, now we can see effort being made and that will be credited to the noise that's been made, the campaigning that's been made around the world. We are grateful for all the attention."
CNN: Does she welcome foreign support?
"This has been going on way too long and there's no shame asking for help and in taking it. The truth is, terrorism is not only our problem, it's not a continent problem, it's a global issue and we all have to come together to help it because at the end of the day this is a breach of human rights and it should concern each and everyone of us.

Love or Lust: Finding Out More About a Man's Intentions
By Jay J. Joseph
You can never be sure of what someone's intentions are towards you, whether they want to have a meaningful relationship or are just looking to spend some time with you and then run off to something new. As more and more time passes, you might start getting certain signals which might help you to find whether he wants a meaningful relationship with you or is just looking to have a physical experience and just let go after. If you are able to tell this difference, you can develop a strong and successful relationship for yourself.
Lust: Superficial Conversations
If your guy just wants to have superficial conversations with you all the time, and hesitates in having deeper and meaningful conversations, then he might just be lusting over you. The greatest signal for lust is perhaps not wanting to get to know you but still wanting you around. People who are in lust are more likely to be attracted to you physically.
Love: He Looks Forward To Spending Some Quality Time With You
It is a well known fact that people lusting over someone are just looking for physical pleasure while those who truly love someone seek happiness and a deeper, more fulfilling joy within that person. If your man truly loves you, then he will make it a point to spend as much time with you, get to know you better, and try to learn your strong as well as your weak points. To him, emotional intimacy will be as meaningful as the physical one.
Lust: He Meets You only till His Purpose is Served
If your meetings are short and only full of physical intimacy as opposed to something concrete, then you might want to watch out. This is because, your man might not be interested in building something meaningful with you and will likely only be meeting you to serve his purpose. Therefore, the next time he wants to meet you, you will know exactly what's on his agenda.
Love: He Talks About the Future
A man who truly loves you would want to include you in his life on a more permanent and long term basis. He will likely talk to you about the future, and his long term plans with you. A deeper and a strong emotional connection is, therefore, a great thing.
You should know how to distinguish between love and lust. After all, you would not want a guy using you for his purposes only, unless you are also seeking lust and nothing else.
