Police arrest First Class honors graduate, others over internet fraud

I can allow acclaim this to evil men do and lack of good jobs, see what this guys had to do to keep money in their account.
The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) have arrested a 6-man internet fraud syndicate that includes a First Class honor graduate who specialize in designing the organisation's websites and using same to defraud unsuspecting job seekers, this is according to a report on the Nigerian police website.
A petition dated 22nd August 2013, received from OPEC FUND for International Development alleged that a website designed as "OFID Scholarship Website" with OFID name and logo has been used to defraud innocent Nigerian applicants. That in the website, applicants were required to pay N2,500.00 as an application fee and over 2,000 applicants responded and paid the fees through the First Bank Account Number 2020874607 and Access Bank Account Number 0056941009 with the name OFID WSAS NG. The petitioner stated further that it was one of the victims that contacted OFID via facebook, accusing OFID of being complicit in the fraud
.
The Cybercrime Section of the Unit swung into action and the mastermind of the fraud, one Falade Oluwapelumi Ayotunde was arrested. His arrest led to the arrest of five other syndicate members. Police investigation so far revealed that over 2,000 applicants paid the sum of N2,500.00 each into the two banks provided by the suspects and the principal suspect is the only signatory to both accounts.
[1] FALADE OLUWAPELUMI AYOTUNDE - A 25years old from Akure, Ondo State and 500Level Estate Management student of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). The suspect made a confessional statement, that he designed the website of OFID WSAS (OPEC Fund for International Development for World Student Aid Scholarship) in June, 2012. That the idea came from one Fajobi Olalekan and Bolatiri Opemipo. He also admitted that he opened an account in both First Bank and Access Bank with the name OFID WSAS NG for applicants to pay in their application fee which many responded to. He further stated that he and his cohorts printed a postal for OFIDWAS which was on the website.
[2] ASAOLU VICTOR – 25years old from Ilesha in Osun State and a graduate of Mining Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). A job seeker, He confessed that he assisted to paste the posters on line and he was given N80,000.00 initially and later another N40,000.00 totaling N120,000.00 for the job.
[3] AWOTE TEMITOPE EMMANUEL – 27years old. A 500Level Estate Management student of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). He confessed that he assisted the principal suspect to sign guarantor for the accounts he opened in First Bank and Access Bank for the OFID program and was paid N70,000.00 which he had spent for his personal effects. He stated that he participated in pasting and publicizing the fake OFID Scholarship Program. He also stated that he knew from the onset that the OFID Scholarship Program is a scam aimed at defrauding innocent scholarship applicant but that he still went on to deceive the bank that his friend is honest and the program genuine.
[4] FAJOBI OLALEKAN is 27years old from Lagos State and a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) with a first class honour and the best graduating student in his department for the year 2012. He is currently working with Dee Xecutor Concept. He stated that while in school, he lived in the same Lodge with the 1st suspect and his mates/friends always come to him for educational assistance because of his intelligence. That he once fell victim for scholarship known as EDIADS, which made the 1st suspect to approach him and got some information regarding that one, which he believed gave him an idea on how to design OFID Scholarship Website. He further stated that he lent the 1st suspect the sum N12,000.00 for hosting the Website. He later gave him N20,000.00 in return and informed him that the fraud was successful.
[5] BOLATIRI EMMANUEL ONAOPEMIPO is 25years old from Oyo State. A graduate of FUTA. He is currently a Handset Dealer. He corroborated Fajobi Olalekan's statement that they applied for scholarship while in school which turned out to be fake and they shared their experiences with the 1st suspect which gave him an idea on how to design his own fake Website with OFID name/logo. He also stated that he lent him the sum of N8,000.00 and was later paid N12,000.00 with interest.
[6] ADEBOMI OLUWATOSIN – 26years old and a graduate of FUTA. He is currently working with Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro as a Programmer II. According to him, he offered professional advice to the 1st suspect and lent him the sum of N10,000.00 and was later given N100,000.00 as his own share. He confessed that he knew from the onset that it was fraud aimed at defrauding innocent applicants, since there was no authority from OFID.
Investigation is on-going. Suspects will be charged to court soonest. The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit, CP Umar F. Idris advises the general public to verify the genuineness of any on-line advert before parting with their money. He also uses this medium to invite the affected victims to Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) No. 13, Milverton Road, Ikoyi – Lagos in furtherance of the investigation.

Man spends 23years in prison for allegedly failing to bribe policeman

Now this is one sad story,I always knew this country was corrupt just did not know it went this far. Read this story and if you don't fell a pain inside then you are not human,
A shaft of pain knifed through his facial contours as he recounted the grisly experiences he had in prison for more than 23 years.
Prior to 1989, Calistus Ike had dreamt of becoming a very successful business man.
Little did he know that he was going to spend seven years as an awaiting trial inmate and another 16 years on the death row.
As the first son and bread winner of his family at that time,
Ike, had all his dreams quashed after he was sentenced to death following his refusal to pay N200 bribe to the policeman that investigated an allegation against him.
Luck however shone on him when through the intervention of a France- based human right group, Avocats Sans Frontieres, ASFF, also known as 'Lawyers Without Borders France', the Edo state government, pardoned him and approved his release from prison in 2012.
Reliving the harrowing times he had in jail and circumstances that led to his conviction withSaturdayVanguard, this disconsolate erstwhile death row inmate, insisted that he was innocent of the allegation that left him at the mercy of the hang-man, even as he called for a total overhaul of the criminal justice system in Nigeria.
Describing himself as a "lucky-survivor", Ike, who is now in his early fifties, stressed that so many innocent Nigerians are currently languishing in various prison facilities across the federation.
"The unfortunate thing is that some of the people I left in prison did not even have a case-file. Some of them had stayed as 'awaiting-trial' inmates for more than 10 years", he lamented.
Narrating the story of his life, Ike said: "It happened to me in the year 1989. I was resident in Benin, the Edo state capital. There was a man that lived in the same compound with me. His wife had stomach problem and he asked me to lead him to somewhere to collect a root (herbal medicine) for his wife.
We went there about5pm. After escorting him to the place where he collected the medicine, I returned to my house.
The next day, I went to do my business. I did not know that the same man had engaged police to look for me and the other man that gave him the root, a man I didn't even know. When I heard that police came to look for me, I inquired about the station they came from and went there myself. "I reported myself and asked why they came to look for me.
They told me that there was an allegation that I conspired with the man we collected medicine from his house and broke into my neighbour's house- who was the same man I accompanied to get the roots for his wife- and stole his properties.
I never knew that they had equally arrested the man that gave us the root.
Thereafter, the policeman handling the case insisted that I must write a confessional statement otherwise he would deal with me. I refused to write anything. I told him that I would only narrate the exact thing that happened''.
"It was at that juncture that he started beating me with 'Koboko'. He flogged me mercilessly that day. I was tortured until the D.P.O in charge of the station asked him to stop and just take my statement.
After I gave them my statement, the same policeman that flogged me, came back and said that he could not find any evidence to pin the alleged crime on me. He said that he had concluded all the investigations and found nothing against me.
"However, he said I should give him N200 so that he would drop the case and allow me to go home. Remember, we are talking about 1989. As at that time, that amount was big money to me.
So, I told him I had no such money to give out. I stood my ground that I was innocent of the charge and even asked them to take me to court if indeed they thought that I had a case to answer.
Within two days, the policeman took the matter to court. We went to court, at the Magistrate court, the policeman freed the other man I was accused with and pinned the whole charge on me.
"From the Magistrate court, he took me to the Military Tribunal where the case changed overnight.
From the original allegation of 'burglary and theft', I was charged with armed robbery.Whereas the Policeman and that my compound man whose properties were allegedly stolen, as well as his wife, testified before Tribunal, I had no one to testify for me. I was left with only God and no one else.
"After a long run of the trial, I was convicted and sentenced to death for a crime I never committed or even imagined. I never for once had such dream for my life, but I was condemned to death.Nonetheless, my faith in God never wavered, I kept asking him to vindicate me. I was in death sentence cell in Edo state for over 14 years. After then, I was transferred to Enugu prison.
"One day, I was there, inside the prison with other inmates when information got to me that there were some people from France that were helping inmates in Benin prison. I quickly called my brother and asked him to take my plight to those people, maybe they could help me to regain my freedom.
"By the special grace of God, within three months, I was let loose from the grip of the wicked of this world and I thank God for it. What I however want Nigerians to know is that there is great level of injustice in our judiciary and because of that, many innocent people have died for crimes they never committed.''
"Some of our lawyers are not helping matters. All they are interested in is money. Some cases they know they don't have the capacity to handle they will just force themselves into them and their clients will be condemned and killed.
Before my very eyes, I witnessed executions that took the lives of over 48 young and energetic men and women . It is a painful thing to experience.
I was released in 2012. After I was arrested in 1989, I stayed as awaiting trial inmate for seven years, and stayed on death row for 16 years.
My case did not go up to the Supreme Court. It was tried by the military tribunal so I didn't even have the opportunity to go on appeal.
"My experience in the prison was very traumatic. That place is hell on earth! Some of the prison warders are very wicked- even though there are some good ones too. The bad ones are tormentors. They torment inmates at will.
The food inside there is nothing to write home about. Roofs of some of the cells leak badly when it rains.
Getting good medication is rather a luxury too big to imagine, except in critical cases or upon an order of the court.
In the prison, every inmate is left to his own fate. Inmates are suffering badly even the awaiting trial inmates too.
"It hurts me when I see them on TV claiming that they are reforming the prisons. I am telling you today that they are doing nothing. Anyone that is so convinced that our prisons are better now should volunteer and spend a weekend inside any of our prisons. The hardship inside there is better imagined than experienced.I saw hell!
If the government gets up now and say they are reforming prisons, they are doing nothing! I am saying this because I experienced it for 16 years on the death row".

American Singer Ray J Booked For Grabbing A Woman’s B!oobs In Public

Ray Jhas been charged with sexual battery at last for allegedly groping a woman's b****t.

We earlier reported that the 'I Hit It First' singer has been charged with10 misdemeanor offencesafter being arrested at theBeverly Wilshire hotelin May but new details have now emerged over one of the charges following some confusion.

Police had originally been called to the Beverly Hills establishment after the singer – who is the younger brother of BrandyNorwoodand ex toKim Kardashian– had brushed up against a woman's butt, but officers at the time insisted it wasn't sexual battery because the contact was incidental.

However, according toTMZ, Raywas seen by multiple witnesses, both staff and patrons, deliberately grabbing a woman's chest, prompting the sexual battery charge.

Both the hotel lobby and bar are filled with surveillance cameras which cover every angle of both rooms, while another witness described the singer as "wacked out on something" when he entered the bar.

The 33-year-old star will be arraigned on all 10 charges on Friday (25.07.14), but is not required to be in court. As well as sexual battery, the singer faces four charges of resisting arrest, three counts of assault and battery, and two counts of vandalism.

After being asked to leave the hotel due to his "rowdy" antics,Ray– who is best known for appearing in a s*x tape with then-girlfriendKim K– refused to go so security made a citizen's arrest.

Law enforcement officers then arrived at the scene and the R&B star allegedly kicked out the back window of the police car and spat in an arresting officer's face as he was being handcuffed.

TILL DEATH DO US PART! Couple Gets Married At A Cemetery

A Nebraska couple took the words 'Till death do us part' very seriously when they chose an unusual venue for their wedding: the largest cemetery in Omaha.

Janyl Jumadinova and Oliver Bonham-Carter exchanged vows Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

They were surrounded by family, friends and more than 100,000 souls buried in the 349-acre cemetery.

The bride, who is from Kyrgyzstan, said her culture holds a firm belief in spirits. Some of the groom's ancestors are buried in the cemetery. "It's not at all creepy," Bonham-Carter said. "We have thousands of witnesses — both alive and dead!"

The couple married earlier this year in a small ceremony in Pennsylvania, but they wanted to hold another wedding so friends and family could bear witness. Relatives of the couple traveled more than 6,000 miles from three different continents to attend.

The ceremony took place in an ornate 101-year-old chapel decorated with granite, marble, brass, stained glass and mosaic tiles. It was designed by John McDonald, an Omaha architect who helped construct Joslyn Castle and the Joslyn Art Museum with his son Alan. McDonald, his wife and son are interred in the walls of his Forest Lawn Cemetery chapel.

8 Places A Man Must NEVER Touch On A Woman’s Body

This posted was gotten off a lady who shared what women really don't want u touch at specific conditions.
Sometimes I get tired of hearing myself say Don't touch! I am sure my husband gets annoyed, too, since it's him who is doing the touching. It's not that I don't like his touch, you see, I really do love it to the millionth degree, but there are times when he touches me in a place during a certain time that makes me want to scream.
Of course I don't scream for fear of waking up our kids who have recently decided to go on a sleep strike leaving us to rarely get any touchy feely time in anyway so I should really take it when I can get it. But I'm trying to make the best out of every touchy feely moment — trying to make the best of this moment for everyone. So here's my list on the places a man should never touch on a woman's body along with the worst times to do it. Because I'm not saying these places should never be touched, I'm saying they shouldn't be touched in certain scenarios. Men, you need to be astute. I know, it's hard sometimes. But here's help.
1. The nipple when other things are going on with our body. Avoid nipple pinching when we're breastfeeding or about to have our periods. It just hurts … in the bad way.
2. The leg when it hasn't been shaved and we've been meaning to shave but just didn't get around to it. We want to be smooth, but now you've gone and realized we are prickly and lazy, making us feel instantly unattractive. (Unless of course you are into that sort of thing.)
3. The vagina when it needs a bath. If you start going downtown and she pulls you back up, this is your red flagthat she's not feeling so fresh. Respect it because your attempt will be futile. She probably won't enjoy it while worrying about her lady odor anyway.
4. The anus without a lubricated finger. One question will help you understand: How do you think it would feel to shove your penis in a keyhole?
5. Our hair after we just spent hours at the salon. Common sense, right? Come on, guys!
6. The face when we're oily or have a pimple. If you don't know when this is because men seem to generally be blind to these sorts of things, tell your woman you think she looks so pretty. If she acts surprised and mentions something about her skin not being right or sort of looks away to hide her face, this may be a good time to avoid face touching. Or, you know, just look to see if there is a blemish.
7. The stomach after a large meal. We really want to have a flat tummy, but it's nearly impossible most times, particularly after we just ate a cheeseburger with sweet potato French fries and had a beer. Or during a premenstrual bloat. Or when we eat anything with beans.
8. Anywhere after we have been sweating … a lot … and we aren't drunk. I'd say about 99 percent of the time, most women don't like a man to get all physical after we've gotten all physical at the gym. This is also true for when we have been outside heatingup during those sweltering summer months. But I've found that if you add alcohol, this hang up of being touched when sweaty is gone. Same goes for all the others, too.
Of course there are always exceptions here, which makes it all the more confusing for men. Women can be hard to readand harder to please, but when you do read us and please us, everyone is satisfied. Got that, guys?
What places do you hate to be touched and in what scenarios?
Michele Zipploves vintage and will defend skinny jeans to the death though she is highly superstitious and "death" is probably a bad word choice. She has a touch of the hoarding disease and enjoys sleuthing, the worst reality shows, and wearing high heels, even at the playground. She's an AP mom of twins, slightly crunchy but with a pedicure.

(PICZ) Brody Jenner, Kim Kardashian’s Step Brother Walks In On Her Taking Sexy Selfies In See-through Dress On Thai Holiday

Miss kanye and beautiful Kim Kardashian's obsession with photos of herself brought her huge embarrassment on Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The 33-year-old reality star was seen constantly taking selfies while on family holiday in Thailand – even telling an assistant in a camera shop it was 'the purpose of life '

But the only thing more uncomfortable and more vain than encouraging your assistant to take photos of you while you're in a white see-through dress would be your step-brother walking in on the event, dropping his jaw over the sight he beheld, and then bragging that he had a "half-chub" after seeing the daughter of the woman his father married basically naked, with all of her bits hanging out, but that's exactly what happened, and even we're troubled now.

“Racism is Alive & Well” – Did Nicki Minaj Diss Iggy Azalea Again?

Teens are filming sex!

The increase rate of sex tape online especially from kids is becoming alarming.
Parents have been appalled to read
recently of several cases in which teens have
filmed themselves, or, even worse, had
someone else film them, having sex.
It has happened so frequently that parents are
starting to wonder if it could happen to their
own teens. At first glance, it seems like bizarre
behaviour, but it can be avoided:
Tips for avoiding nasty sex tape surprises
- Sex is sex: Many teens engage in sexual
activities. That's a reality, and the reason
parents should discuss sexuality in an open
fashion, in conjunction with sex education teens
receive in classes at school. Demystifying sex,
and contextualising it as part of a loving
relationship is one way of removing that illicit
"buzz".
- Abstinence is still worth encouraging and
possible for teens to achieve.
- It's inappropriate (and often illegal) to share
explicit images or images of your own private
body parts). If the teen receiving or sending
images is a minor, criminal charges of
distributing child pornography could be laid. Do
check your teen's cell phone and computer for
either distributed porn or explicit picture he or
she may have sent or received.
- Note: Rape is rape: Rape is non-consensual
sex. Your teen needs to know the difference. If a
girl is incapacitated as a result of alcohol or
drugs consumption, she is incapable of consent,
and if sexual assault takes place or is suspected,
criminal charges may be pursued.
- Sharing explicit images is one of the behaviour
patterns which indicates risk-taking behaviour
and it should be addressed immediately should
it occur.
- Jaded kids: Teens are often inappropriate and
exhibitionistic, but, with the availability of
hardcore images online, it's much easier for
teens to be exposed to extremely graphic
images, and to become either less shocked by
them or eager to create material equally as
shocking.
- Information sharing: Teens are also not known
for living beyond the moment- what may seem
like stupid fun in the heat of the moment may
come back to haunt them for years. Once
images or footage has been shared or leaked
onto the internet, it's virtually impossible to
remove. A picture or short film made as a joke
could be ticking time bombs of shame- just look
at the leaked celebrity sex tapes, for example.
- Drug and alcohol abuse have been shown to
be factors in inducing risk-taking behaviour
such as sex, unprotected sex and sex with
multiple partners.
- As parents, don't allow your child access to
pornographic or age-restricted content. If you
like to view it, keep it password protected or on
a machine to which your teens do not have
access.
- Know your teen's friends, where they're going
to be when they go out, and who will be
supervising them. Find out with whom they are
interacting on social media, too, and request
that they do not keep their account settings
private from you, but private to others.
Communication is always necessary: Make sure
your teen understands that there are negative
consequences to risk-taking behaviour.
Communication is a life-long skill you and your
teen will develop, and one which will help to
defuse problems should they occur.

Laugh before going to bed with akpos

It has been proven that laughing actually do a lot of good to the human body, here is a few jokes I picked out just to make you laugh.
Akpos goes to a Store for groceries. He finds cat food at a very special low price. He buys a dozen cans of cat food.
The manager sees this and thinks that Akpos probably doesn't
own a cat and he might give the cat food to his children. He goes to Akpos and ask him to bring the cat as proof for him to buy the
cat food. Akpos goes and bring his cat and the manager lets
him buy the dozen cans.
A few days later Akpos finds dog
food at a low lower price. He buys adozen cans of dog food. Again the manager wants proof that he owns the dog. Akpos goes to get his dog and the manager lets him buy.
A few days later Akpos goes to the store carrying a bag. He ask the manager to put his hand in the bag and feel what is inside. After feeling what's in the bag the manager says, "What the f* ‪#‎ k‬? What is this? Is this sh*t?" Akpos nodded And replied,
"Yes I wanted to buy toilet paper and I don't want you to send
me back for proof again.

3 Boss says to secretary, "We are travelling abroad for the week, so make arrangements." Secretary makes a call to her husband, "My boss and I will be travelling abroad for the week, so look after kids." Husband makes call to secret lover, "My wife is going abroad for the week, so let's spend the week together." Secret lover makes a call to a little boy whom she is giving private lessons, "I'm going to be busy throughout the week, so you need not come for classes." Little boy makes call to his grandfather, "Grandpa, I don't have classes for the week, because my teacher is going to be busy. Let's spend the week together." Grandpa makes a call to his Secretary, "I'm afraid we won't be travelling again. My grandson and I are going to spend the week together." Secretary makes a call to her husband, "My boss has some personal matters to attend to, so our trip is cancelled." Husband makes a call to secret lover, "We cannot spend the week together, my wife has cancelled her trip." Secret lover makes a call to little boy, "We will still have classes as usual this week." Little boy makes a call to his grandfather, "Grandpa! I'm sorry we won't be able to spend the week together. My teacher called and said that I have to attend classes." Grandpa makes a call to his secretary, "Change of plans! My grandson is no more coming. So we are still travelling this week. Make arrangements." How will the chain be broken?

A local NGO office realized that the organization had never received a donation from the town's most successful lawyer, Akpos. The person in charge of contributions called him to persuade him to contribute.
"Our research shows that out of a yearly income of at least N15,000,000, you don't give a dime to charity. Wouldn't you like to give back to the community in some way?"
Akpos mulled this over for a moment and replied, "First, did your research also show that my mother is dying after a long illness, and has medical bills that are several times her annual income?"
Embarrassed, the NGO rep mumbled, "Um ... no."
Akpos interrupts, "or that my brother, a disabled veteran, is blind and confined to a wheelchair?"
The stricken NGO rep began to stammer out an apology, but was interrupted again.
"or that my sister's husband died in a traffic accident," Akpos' voice rising in indignation, "leaving her penniless with three children?!"
The humiliated NGO rep, completely beaten, said simply, "I had no idea..."
On a roll, Akpos cut him off once again, "So if I don't give any money to them, why should I give any to you?"

"I kept my wife’s corpse in a room for 3months hoping she'd wake up - Christy Essien Igbokwe’s husband

The husband of late iconic singer, Christy Essien Igbokwe, who put Nigeria on the world music map with her song, Seun Rere, Edwin Igbokwe, has opened up on his grief and denial following her death on June 30th 2011, saying he left her corpse in a room in their home for 3 months hoping she would wake up. Below is what he told Saturday Punch
That morning of her death, pastors and other prayer warriors ended morning prayer in her room; she whispered amen, and then slept off. It was exactly 9a.m. I felt dazed, shocked and awed when I was told I lost my 'everything,' my companion and the love of my life. Jebose, I caved into denial zone. We immediately moved her body to a room in our home, unknown to many. My late wife warned that her body must not be deposited in the mortuary. I had to respect her wishes. So we decorated a room in our house and laid her down. She was beautiful, peaceful in her sleep. The media and the enlarged burial committee members didn't know where she was after her death. She lay in that room for almost three months. I was going crazy. I didn't want to believe she would not wake up. She was smiling peacefully. I couldn't believe it. I made sure I looked at her every day. I was confused, depressed, dejected and hopeless. The children began to monitor me. I was still in denial, hoping she was asleep… she would wake up. I kept reassuring myself. She never did." Find the full write up after the cut...
Thirty five years ago, I married my soul mate and lifetime partner. She was Nigeria's lady of songs, the late Christy Essien Igbokwe. I was a 26-year-old executive atThe Punchwhile she was a 19-year-old songstress and actress that mesmerised Nigeria's entertainment and theatre scenes with her young, affable innocence. Through those years, we celebrated togetherness and profound love, a love I felt the first time I blessed my eyes on her; a love that grew stronger each sunrise, until 9a.m, June 30, 2011. With each day's sunset, our love blossomed, like flowers bloomed in spring. We stayed as one through the challenges of life. There were years of aches and pains, tears of joy and electrifying laughter. We stayed together and survived the rough and tumbles of life. We shared everything until it was time for her to go. She lived half a century.
"As I walked down Jebose Boulevard, I tried to accept and appreciate all that life privileged after her eternal transition. It is over three years since Christy died. The denials, the depressions, forward from her death are paths to healing. I missed and mourned her tenderly. Time and support from friends and family were therapies to a second chance at life, living and loving. No one understands the discomfort and trauma of losing a dear family member such as your siblings, your parents or wife, a dearest lifetime partner; (the cherished one you swore before God and the people to love till death do us part), until it happened to them: We are never the same when we lose those that we loved and admired. A part of us leaves with them. Every one of us would come to that place in our lifetime; what matters is how we handled our different circumstances and who would be there to comfort us as we grieved. The mourning season may never end. I can imagine days of guilt, days of tear drops on the pillows and silent wails for losing my dearest wife. The pain is part of passionate memories, of a privileged, shared moment in our lives. These walks with you, Jebose, ignited emotional past pains of losing my late wife and a closure of tragic and traumatic chapters of my life.
Christy was special and spectacular. She was a prophet. She revealed when she would die to the children and by extension, to me: she revealed to us that she had only half a century in this 'wicked world;' she told me that when death came, it would be middle of the year. She shared with close friends and members of the family, her end time. I always dismissed her because I was not ready to lose her. She told our children that she would live for 50 years and that any single day thereafter, they should be thanking God. She died June 30, 2011 at age 50.
During one of our affectionate conversations, she told me she would be sick for three days before her death. She said she would exit without burden to anyone or herself. I didn't believe, until it happened: four days before her death, she complained of stomach ache. We went to the hospital for scanning and treatment: the hospital placed her on overnight admission and began treatment, but she wanted to go home. Her desire to go home was bolstered by hospital's electric power interruption. The hospital's generator was also broken down. She said rather weakly, that she wanted to go home since the hospital had no electricity. I honoured her request. We left the hospital for our home. Halfway into our street, the doctor called and informed me that the generator suddenly activated, surprisingly nothing was wrong with it, we could return to continue treatment; we were almost home, my wife said she didn't want to go back to the hospital.
"The next day, the illness continued at home. She refused to go back to the hospital: the doctor came to the house and placed her on a drip. Even though she was weak, she was active and independent; she refused any assistance; not even a support on the staircase and into the car, as we set out for hospital again, having encouraged her to return to a different hospital for re-examination. I drove her into the waiting arms of doctors who further examined my late wife in a specialist hospital (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja). She was placed on admission. She was seeing things and in her own world, as she lay ill, she was concerned about the staff and other patients in the hospital. She was kept overnight because of the diagnosis. The second night, she requested prayer warriors to begin intense prayers, not for her but for us, the living, and for her peaceful transition. She encouraged nurses in the hospital to pray: she would whisper prayer points and choruses. She muttered some messages to our God-son, George, who was with me in the hospital. We went into frenzy shouting for joy when she mentioned that 'we were victorious and it was all over.' By 5.30am June 30, 2011, we witnessed deteriorating changes in her health. I phoned Obi, our first son, and he quickly arrived at the hospital to assist. I dashed out to seek a transfer for her to another (the intensive care) room in the hospital. I left Obi and George with pastors and prayer warriors who arrived to pray with us. Something happened while I was gone. The mood changed when I returned. I smelt sadness from the travelling breeze within. The mood was solemn. I saw the sad faces of hospital staff and my son: I felt strange. Everyone from the doctors tried to find a way to tell me she had died… One of the midwives called me to the side and said I should brace up because my wife died few minutes then. She never did.
"I finally accepted her death when the pallbearers came into that room and placed her in a coffin for the Commendation Service at Arch Bishop Vining Memorial Cathedral, Ikeja on September 9, 2011 and from there later through the Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja to Akanu Ibiam, Enugu airport en route Awka, Anambra State for funeral service and burial the next day. I knew then, that my best friend, my partner, my soul mate, the mother of my beautiful children, was truly gone.
"After the burial, I was alone and lonely, I felt guilty for her death. I never expected to bury my wife. I always prayed that when my time was up, she, our children and grandchildren would bury me. I began to question God in these transitional periods: I was near complete depression because life was no longer interesting to me: I was lonely and mourning my wife. I was empty. I told everyone that I would never remarry because no woman could replace my late wife. I was suicidal.
After her burial, the pain continued as life began to settle into normalcy, I began to see her in my dreams, encouraging me to live my life. She said she knew if I had the privilege of spending more time with her, I would have corrected certain things in our lives. She said I must move on with my life. Throughout our 32 years, we shared everything: we never separated from the same bedroom. The only time we separated was when we kept her body in a separate room while planning her funeral. Counselling from well-wishers helped me to begin to accept a life without her.
"Her appearances in my dreams encouraged me to move on. In one of such appearances, she told me: "I came and I have fulfilled my destiny on earth. I wished I stayed longer but that was my destiny and God's words must surely come to pass in our lives. I am not coming again. I am happy where I am. It is well with all of you! Please I want to be remembered always in happiness. Stop getting worried any longer because you do most times. You cry often for missing me and wished that I lived so that you make some amends. It is too late now. You should move on. Your focus should be how to live long for our kids. Advise them properly and correct them positively whenever they go wrong, for their own good. Take good care of them and their offsprings as long as you witness and always bless and not curse any of them. (She smiled…..) I never cursed any of them. I only tried to make them look forward to being independent as my last days on earth approached. Because you need to live long for the kids, you can remarry instead of running into some temptations that are building up. Pray hard. God will show you the right person. The person should not be very young. She must be older than our first kid. She must be able to stand in for the sake of the kids but she must not participate directly as one of the owners in any of our already established companies unless with express permission of all the kids. She will obey you. I must be respected. You know other things that would make the relationship to be soothing to me in death and useful to you in life unless if you want to continue to deceive yourself. You must not allow her do anything you know would not be pleasing. You are an intelligent man, I did say this often and I leave you to your conscience (she smiled…) till we meet to part no more. My love to all still existing and I want all to know this."
"If she didn't appear to me in my dreams, I wouldn't have remarried. I remarried after three years of her death. Time reversed everything. I didn't want a situation where I would be bringing different women to our home: After the dreams, I began to consider marriage again. Being alone may not be the problem, the problem is the temptations that loneliness and being alone ferment. That would be very disrespectful to her memory and our children. I remarried, with her blessings. I am no longer mourning but her memories are indelible."

Ex-Wife Reveals Shocking Details About Fela, Says I Want The World To Know The Truth

One of the wives of the late Afrobeat legend,Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Laide Anikulapo-Kuti,Nee Babayale, has revealed some shocking details about the late legend.
Though the interview was months back, I found it now and it's so revealing. If you haven't read it before, read it now. It was actually a video interview withTrumpet Media Group, but you can read the transcribed version after the cut.
How did you meet Fela?
I met Fela at a Sunday Jump in 1974. The shrine was opposite my house and some of my friends were selling things in front of the place, and we were just there doing our own thing, while Baba was inside doing his own thing as usual. It was the boys that made us know him well.
They came to buy cigarettes from my friends, and wanted to take candy sweets for free, and I was a kind of person that would never allow anybody take me or the people around me for a ride.
I protested, and the next thing I knew, was that a hot slap landed on the cheek of my friend selling the goods, and that's how we started fighting, that Fela had to come out. We narrated what happened to him, so Fela took the boy that slapped my friend inside and punished him. After that, Fela sent one of his drivers to me that if I'm chanced, I should come and see him.
Initially, I didn't want to go in, because my people must not see me in that kind of environment. I was 16 years old as at then but I had a big stature. When I got in, Fela said I should follow any of the cars to his house, but I didn't go. That was how I knew Fela liked me, and I liked him too, so every Sunday jump, I was always going there, well-dressed. Whenever he was going in, he always looked in our direction. However, to cut the long story short, we eventually began dating.
What was your parent's reaction when they knew you were in Kalakuta?
It was a tug-of war. My father never wanted it, because he thought people who were around Fela were hooligans, but it was a lie. Anybody who was a hooligan then was either a passer-by, or just a shrine-goer, and not part of Fela's inner caucus, because Fela never wanted trouble from any of his people.
Fela fought with his music, but when people heard the lyrics of his songs, they thought he was a hooligan, which he was not. I was actually on break from school for two weeks when I decided to go and spend some time with Fela, but when I got there, I really enjoyed myself and didn't want to go back to school again though I was in Form Four then. My parents went looking for me in school, but the Reverend mothers and sisters there then said they didn't know my whereabouts even though all my properties were still in the hostel.
They began searching everywhere, but they never thought I could be in Fela's place. It was actually Fela's friend, who happened to be my in-law, Uncle Tayo Mott, that informed my parents that I was with Fela. He was a very close friend to Fela and was also his DJ.
What were the actions your father took?
He was always coming to harass us wherever we went. He would send boys from Shitta, Surulere, to bundle me up wherever I was, and they would carry me. My father was a prominent, well-known and outgoing person, so he knew people like King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, and IK Dairo very well, so he begged the three of them to go and plead with Fela to release his daughter.
On that fateful day when they came, I was in Fela's room, and we had just finished doing our 'thing.' When Fela was informed that the three men were there to see him, he went out, and later sent for me that I should dress up and come out. When I went out, he sat me down, and asked me if I knew the three men, and I replied in the affirmative. He asked me if I knew why they were there, and I replied that I didn't, so he told me they were there because of me.
I said why, and asked them if they knew me, but Fela calmed me down, that they were sent by my father to beg me to come back home. I then told them that there was nothing happening there that they didn't know about because they were also in the music industry. I told them I was enjoying Fela's music and didn't want to go home.
Can you recollect what happened when Kalakuta Republic was invaded?
It started like a joke, but quickly escalated into war. Some traffic police officers 'Yellow Fever' came and said they wanted to see the person who drove a Range Rover that was in the compound because it had even numbers on its license plate, even though it was odd numbers. The gateman then told them that he was not in the best position to answer them, because as someone that wasn't learned, he didn't know the difference between odd and even numbers. The gateman then went inside to inform Fela, and he told them that he wasn't coming out.
The Yellow Fever officers then went and came back with some soldiers because we were very near Abati Barracks then. When Fela was informed that there were soldiers outside, he first went into his mother's room, because he never went out without seeing her. Beko was already in the clinic then, but when he saw what was going on, he also came into mama's room. Before we knew what was happening, the whole thing degenerated into chaos.
How did the issue of the mass marriage come about?
When Kalakuta Republic was invaded and we all had different injuries, mine was on my navel, and all the other women making jest of me that I would never have a baby, even though I was just about 20 years old then. I really wanted to have children because of the special treatment Fela gave his children. I then decided to look outside because Fela didn't want to have any more children then.
He went to one Baba JK in Idi Oro in Mushin to make his s***m watery. He was always drinking African medicine there, and that was what neutralized his s***m. So many women were always getting pregnant for him that he was terminating about six different pregnancies per day. It was Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti that used to terminate it then. They're all dead now; me too, I'm going to die one day, but it's always good to put things right for the records.
There was another girl then who I was close with, Adunni, so I told her that we should look for people who we would have children for. She had a baby for a taxi driver, while I had my baby for a journalist, Steve, with Punch Newspapers. He usually reported whatever activity Fela was involved in all round the world. He was the kind of person I needed at that time. There was a time we were in Ghana in Hotel Presidential, and that was the time I went in with him. Shortly after that, I started experiencing morning sickness, and when it was confirmed that I was pregnant, I was very happy.
Soon after that, Fela called me to go in with him, and I told him that I was pregnant. He said, 'What' and I repeated it. He came from the third floor to the first floor to Mama's room, and he told her, "Maami, you know what, Laide is pregnant.' Mama asked him who was responsible, and he told her he was the one to cover me up. Mama then said 'Fine' because she knew Fela liked me and I liked Fela. Mama never knew that I had intercourse with Steve, even though his room was directly opposite mama's own in Ghana. This is a true life story. I want you to bring it out and let people know.
After that time, Fela now called Steve and the press that 'these women have suffered a lot with me, so if anyone of them wants, they can marry me and be having children.' Steve said if that was what he wanted, then, no problem. So Fela put out a notebook and said that the people who want to marry him out of all the women in the shrine should put their names down. In all, we were 27 that wrote our names, and Fela told the rest that if they didn't write their names, he wouldn't sleep with them.
On the day of the wedding ceremony, Fela's best pal, Tunji Braithwaite, who was supposed to join us together, ran away from his chambers, saying that he had never seen such a thing before for a man to marry 27 women at the same time. He had thought it was a joke when Fela told him earlier. The following day, Fela called an Ifa priest and they came to join us together at Hotel Parisona in Anthony, Lagos. Fela put money on everybody's heads and we collected our certificates of marriage to him.
Can you describe how it felt like being with him?
Fela was a true living legend. He was the one and only man that God put in our midst, but people never knew his worth until he was gone. Fela was always chewing music in his mouth whatever he was doing. Whether he was eating, driving, or with a woman in the room, he was always chewing music in his mouth with his pen and paper with him always. He was very good at writing in short-hand; in fact he was good at everything you can ever think of. There was nothing he did wrong; except you didn't know him. He was a messiah; if we had given him a chance, Nigeria would have changed, but people like Obasanjo never gave him a chance.
Whenever Fela wanted to make music, he sang about the things around him.
Talking about bedroom matters, how did Fela rotate between his numerous wives?
Fela always called his wives based on how he enjoyed them; if he did not enjoy you, he would not call you. Even after the marriage, it continued like that.

TaQoya Branscomb has sued Mathew, claiming he got her pregnant in 2010 ... around the time Beyonce's mom, Tina Knowles, filed for divorce.

We're told TaQoya met Solange in 2008 through a stylist. They hung out together on multiple occasions in nightclubs and bars in Houston. Now here's where the plot thickens. We're told Mathew knew his daughter was hanging out with TaQoya. But Solange was in the dark.

TaQoya tells Hip Hollywood

"First I'd like to thank my family, my friends, and the public for their love and support. I have taken the necessary legal action against Mathew Knowles. It was never my intention for this to become a public matter. The pictures you see are in no way a representation of who I am. They were taken 10 years ago… And I am now a hard working successful single mother. Honestly I just want what is best for my daughter."TaQoya wants Matthew to submit to a DNA test & provide child support 4 years after she gave birth.

(PICZ) Gunmen Invade Unilag, Shoot Student Ibrahim SalawuJul 9th, 2014

Panic struck as Some yet-to-be identified gunmen threw the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, into a state of disarray on Monday after they invaded the King Jaja Hall area of the institution and shot at students.
Although it was not clear whether the attack was carried out by cultists, our correspondent gathered that a student was shot in the head in the mayhem.
The student, who was identified as Sapara, was said to be a final year student of Philosophy. Eyewitnesses said Sapara's face was covered in blood after a bullet scraped the side of his head.
It was learnt that the victim was subsequently taken to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, where he was said to be in stable condition.
The incident, however, led to pandemonium as students, who were sitting for their examination, ran in different directions after the gunshot was heard.
Eyewitnesses said some Akokites (as the students fondly called themselves) who were not at the vicinity of the incident also sought safety in nearby lecture halls, while others fled the campus.
One of the eyewitnesses, who pleaded anonymity for safety reason, said, "It was scary. We heard the gunshots from the King Jaja Hall area and everybody just ran for cover. Some of us saw a car sped off after the shooting. It was believed that the perpetrators might have carried out the attack from the car."
Speaking with our correspondent, the Dean of Students' Affairs of the University, Prof. Olukayode Amund, confirmed that Sapara was shot in the incident. He added that the victim was recuperating in LUTH.
He said investigations had begun to know the circumstances surrounding the attack, after which requisite actions would be taken.
He said, "The events surrounding the incident are still shrouded in mystery and by the time we conclude our investigation, the university authorities will take the necessary and appropriate action. Our security operatives are working very hard to unravel the mystery and whoever is responsible will be held to account."
When asked whether the attack was carried out by cultists, Amund said athough it was not yet confirmed, it was a possibility.
According to him, only cultists are known to carry out operations of such nature.
Our correspondent noted on Tuesday that normal activities went on in the university as students resumed sitting for their ongoing examinations.
Some students, however, confided in PUNCH Metro that they were at alert for a reprisal.
In January, unconfirmed reports had it that a student was axed in the New Hall area of the campus.
Responding to this, Amund noted that the university was working with the police to find useful leads on the attack.
"All our ears are to the ground to see whether we will have any lead. As soon as we have information, we will bring in the security agencies, the police in particular," he said.

Port Harcourt Police Arrest 3 Monkeys & Shoot 2 of Them

Really funny, some policemen in Port Harcourt have zero tolerance for monkey business.

Three monkeys and their owners were arrested by Port Harcourt police today. Two of the monkeys were shot and killed.

The owners were accused of "using the animals to constitute public nuisance" in the Mile One region of the city, Punch reports.

A pedestrian was said to have complained of losing N10,000, after passing the area where the monkeys were entertaining people by displaying their acrobatic skills under the supervision of their owners.

Police officers from the Mile One station subsequently intervened, arresting the monkeys and their owners.

However, things turned awry when two of the monkeys pounced on one of the policemen, and he shot them in self-defence.

"These people (monkey owners) use their monkeys for acrobatic display and when people gather to watch, they speak to their monkeys and they (monkeys) pounce on people.

Before you know it, these same persons going about with monkeys will take advantage of the commotion and take people's money. They have their followers around.

When we arrested them (monkeys and their owners), two of the three monkeys pounced on me as their owners were taken into police custody. I brought out my pistol and shot them," said the police officer.

Some eyewitness claimed that the third monkey had supernatural powers, as policemen reportedly shot at it over 30 times, and it refused to die.

However, the policeman says the claim is false, and insists that third monkey did not attack him.

15 Soldiers Without Enough Weapons Killed by Boko Haram in Take Over Operation

About 15 Nigerian soldiers are reported to have been killed by Boko Haram yesterday at noon when they set out to recapture Damboa military base.

Sahara Reporters states that 200 men of the military had been sent out on the operation to reclaim the base from Islamist militant insurgents who overran it and took it over a few days ago.

The members of the group allegedly laid in ambush waiting for the arrival of the soldiers to retake the base. The group opened fire on the soldiers as soon as they arrived at the base.

They killed as many as 15, and left several injured. A source revealed that the soldiers are angry that they were sent to such a high-risk operation without enough firepower and troops to take out the Boko Haram insurgents.

BREAKING NEWS:- Hunters Help 30 Chibok Girls Escape

These hunters or should we now call them africa commandos, have proved that they really know how to use their guns as the Cable news reports that thirty of the over 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram have escaped, a military source said on Wednesday morning.

The source, who said he didn't want his identity revealed, confirmed that two other Boko Haram captives — a boy and a 10-year-old girl — also escaped.

"All 32 escapees and the hunters who helped them to escape are currently with soldiers," he said.

Why I Hacked My Father To Death – Reedeemer University Student Explains

The disturbing incident that happened few days ago about a 21 year old Redeemer University undergrad who hacked his father,a lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria and sliced his corpse and dumped the remains in a box..According to Premium Times,Tolani said his father provoked him by beating him with a stick; and that he needed no help from Nigerians. He said there is no way Nigerians can help me. I am going to face my judgement. I am meant to pay for what I have done. It is not as if I am ready, it is something that is inevitable – something that is going to happen; I am just waiting for it."My mother is still grieving. I have sent some people to talk to her that I am sorry. I want to give her time. I have talked to my sister. I have asked for forgiveness,"
When asked whether he had been under the influence of drugs, the suspect confessed that he took drugs but denied being under the influence on the day of the MD. He said his action was not planned.
"The incident happened around 1 a.m. when the church would have been sleeping by then. It was anger that led me to this. There was an argument between us and I stood up to him. He beat me with a stick and bit me with his teeth repeatedly. Just the two of us were at home; my mother was in Abuja,"
Tolani said his father was the one that first went to the kitchen to get a wooden spoon which he used to hit him repeatedly. He confessed that he actually used a kitchen knife and cutlass to attack his father.
"I tried to defend myself, then he bit me on my shoulder and I got angry. I used normal small kitchen knife then I used a cutlass to attack him. I regret the action,"
Tolani said it his family resides in Abuja while he lived at the Redeemed Church, RCCG, camp.
"My father came for a programme; then, my school was on break so I went to meet him. We were meant to go back to Abuja together then the incident happened and I am here,"
He told journalists that contrary to previous reports, the altercation was not based on his church attendance.

Fear Grips Residents Of Ikeja As ’7 Heads’ Reportedly Needed For Olu Of Ikeja Burial

It has always be traditional in the past to use humans as during burial of traditional kings and rulers and as always people get scared when these things happen, well in latest reports coming in from Ikeja area of Lagos State, western Nigeria, suggest that there is panic among residents in the area over the burial rites of the late Olu of Ikeja Kingdom, Oba Rauf Adeniyi Aremu Matemi.

According to a circulating rumour, the burial of the late Oba of Ikeja, who was declared dead last week Tuesday, includes the slicing off of '7 heads' to be buried alongside the late Oba.

The monarch was said to have died in his palace after a brief illness and since then, there have been restriction of movement in Ikeja area due to burial rites allegedly being carried out on the death of the traditional ruler.

All businesses and shops at Ikeja local government were closed down for business as a mark of honour for the departed monarch.

However, commercial vehicles and tricycles (Keke Napep) operators were seen going about with their businesses.

When newsmen visited the palace Wednesday morning, traditional rulers, Iyaloja, Baales, members of the Hausa community were there to mourn the monarch.

It was gathered that some rituals were also being performed in the honour of the late Oba at the palace. Some traditional chiefs were also seen wearing white wrappers as well.

Attempt to find out the cause of the death of the monarch, one of his chiefs, who did not disclose his name, said such information could not be disclosed to the media because of some rituals that needed to be carried out first.

Am Qualified To Run For President, PDP Cannot Intimidate Me – Gov Oshiomhole

The state governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, said that his state was not on fire, in relation to the wahala in thee house of assembly, but for the lawmaker of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who are celebrating lawlessness.
He equally stated that he has the right as a Nigerian to contest for the presidency if he so desired, adding that all efforts by PDP in the state to intimidate him would continue to fail.
Oshiomhole, who was reacting to a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, who had accused him of pursuing a vice-presidential ambition in 2015 and thus was setting his state ablaze, said the statement by Metuh was unreasonable.
Oshiomhole while speaking to State House correspondents in Abuja, said the PDP could not intimidate him no matter how hard it tried, adding that it was impossible to set the state he presides over on fire.
On the crisis rocking the Edo State House of Assembly, Oshiomhole said: "You have some people who believe that because they are members of the PDP that they are above the law and they want to celebrate the culture of impunity.
"But I am a product of a struggle all my life, I'm used to people who think that they are much more than what they are. And my own life history tells me that only the man on the side of truth is on the side of God and only that could survive.
"The issue in Edo is straight forward: Four members of the PDP on their own went to court asking the Federal High Court to ask the speaker not to declare their seats vacant. Number two, they asked the court to restrain the speaker and the House of Assembly from carrying out any disciplinary action against them. The court granted these two prayers.
"Now the issue is, I can understand why they were asking that their seats should not be declared vacant because they had changed camps in accordance with the penalty as provided by Section 109 of the constitution.
"But they also went on to ask the court to restrain the speaker from suspending them based on internal disciplinary issues.
"The court granted both prayers, but when the motion was argued by both sides, the court ordered that the speaker should still not declare their seats vacant, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
"However the court vacated the order restraining the House and the speaker from suspending them for any alleged misconduct on the grounds that the court cannot prevent an arm of government from carrying out internal disciplinary measures.
"Now having vacated one leg, the House met subsequently and based on their rules, suspended these four members. You know as media men and women that across the 36 state Houses of Assembly and even the National Assembly at one time or the other, members have been suspended for one offence or the other.
"And in a democracy, if any action is taken against you and you are not satisfied, there is only one civilised way to go, that is to go to court. However these members refused to abide by the suspension order in clear violation of the rules of the House of Assembly.
"The House of Assembly, determined to be on the right side of the law, decided that rather than physically resolve the matter decided to approach the High Court to ask it to grant an interim injunction restraining the four suspended members from coming into the House of Assembly."
He stressed that because the police was aiding and abetting the suspended members, the House asked the court to restrain the police from aiding and abetting them from violating the suspension order.
The governor added that the High Court granted the order, restraining them from going to House of Assembly, and restraining the police from aiding and abetting them.
"I am sure you have seen on the news that they boastfully said they will not obey the court order. In fact, they described the court order as useless. And when the bailiff went to serve them the contempt paper, they harassed and abused the hell out of the bailiff, which means these guys because they are members of the PDP believe they are above the law, they are above the court and that court orders are not meant to be obeyed.
"Ironically, the only reason Edo tax payers' money is spent to maintain these honourable members of the House is to make laws for the good governance of the state and yet you who live on law making, you are the first to dismiss the order of a High Court even when you were the first to approach the High Court for protection.
"And as we speak, you are enjoying that protection but the other leg of the court decision that is against you, you choose to disobey it."
He bemoaned the excessive use of power by the police, which he said was compromising the commercial and economic life of Edo State.
"So if four people refuse to obey a court order that does not mean the state is on fire. You just have few people who are celebrating lawlessness and the police force is helping them to celebrate the lawlessness," he stressed.
On his position, he said: "Simple! Without the state instrument on the streets of this city of Abuja we confronted the powers that be. We confronted people who occupied this villa from 1999 to 2007, I did it along with my colleagues; across the 36 states we did. So I am not a coward that can be intimidated.
"One thing is that the general election is coming 2015 and we have defeated PDP consistently since 2009 when I assumed office. Every bye-election they lost.
"The last National Assembly election we defeated them in the whole of Edo South, which is about 51 per cent of the population; we defeated them in Edo North which is about 33 per cent of the population; we defeated them in Edo Central which accounts for about 17 per cent of the population.
"In my own election, despite all that they boasted that they were going to do, I defeated them in all the 18 local government areas including the local government of the PDP godfather.
"And so what they are trying to do now is that having lost the elections, having been rejected by the Edo people and knowing that another election is coming, they want to destablise the state, intimidate my person.
"And as you read one Methuselah or Olisa Metuh or by whatever name he is called, he was reported as saying that I am destabilising Edo State because I want to contest for the vice-presidency.
"Now that is standing logic upside down. If I wanted to contest for the vice-presidency, do I need to destabilise the government that I currently head?
"So they have let out the cat, meaning that they are afraid for their own rumoured ambition that I want to contest for the vice-presidency. So the point I want to make is that if I decide even to contest for the presidency, PDP cannot intimidate me, I have a right to do so if it is my conviction.
"It is unfortunate that some people want to put their individual interest above national interest and I cannot be intimidated. I'm firmly on ground and there is nothing to worry about."
